The PRactice, a well-established public relations and communications firm headquartered in India, has officially joined PROI Worldwide, a leading global consortium of independent PR and communications agencies. The partnership is expected to expand PROI Worldwide’s footprint and specialised offerings within India’s fast-evolving technology and communications landscape.

The move underscores growing interest among global PR networks to strengthen collaboration with Indian agencies that have deep local expertise and sophisticated services across communications disciplines.

A pioneer in tech and integrated communications

Founded in 2000 by Nandita Lakshmanan, The PRactice has completed 26 years in the industry, establishing itself as one of the early pioneers in technology public relations in India. Originally focused on the country’s emerging startup ecosystem, the agency has since grown into a full-service communications firm with expertise across consumer tech, enterprise technology, future mobility, space tech, fintech, agritech and the social development sector.

The agency has offices in Bangalore, Delhi and Mumbai, giving it broad reach and market understanding across India’s diverse regional communications landscapes.

Services that extend beyond media relations

The PRactice’s portfolio includes stakeholder engagement, social media management, media relations, internal communications, corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives and public affairs/advocacy. The firm positions itself as a strategic partner that helps clients navigate complex market dynamics and deliver communications strategies designed to achieve tangible business outcomes, rather than just traditional media coverage.

Leaders comment on the collaboration

Angela Scaffidi, Global Chair of PROI Worldwide, welcomed the new partnership, saying, “The PRactice’s impressive 26-year legacy and its expertise in technology and integrated communications make them an ideal addition to PROI Worldwide. Their ability to position public relations as a strategic management discipline, coupled with their extensive reach across India, makes them a valuable partner to our network.

Expressing her enthusiasm, Nandita Lakshmanan, Founder and CEO of The PRactice, said, “Joining PROI Worldwide is a tremendous opportunity for us. We are eager to gain exposure to a diverse global network such as PROI Worldwide and the invaluable learnings that come from shared experiences. As Indian companies increasingly look to go global, and as we seek to optimize our reach and maximize impact across India’s diverse markets, the collaborative network of independent firms across PROI will be instrumental.

Implications for India’s PR sector

Industry observers note that The PRactice’s induction into PROI Worldwide signifies a deeper integration of Indian communications firms into global practice networks. This reflects both the growing maturity of the Indian PR market and the increasing demand from domestic brands for international expertise and collaborative intelligence in building global narratives.

As independent agencies across markets look to share insights, best practices and resources, such partnerships may enable Indian firms to better support clients with global ambitions while contributing their own regional strengths to the wider network
