A Sony Bravia TV owner has raised a dispute with the company after his ₹1.5 lakh television reportedly developed vertical green lines while still under warranty.

Laxmi Kant Tiwari claims he purchased a Sony Bravia K-55XR70 Mini LED TV for around ₹1.5 lakh in September 2024. According to his account, the television developed vertical green lines on July 2, 2026, around 22 months after purchase. He says the TV was covered under Sony's three-year warranty at the time.

Tiwari claims that a Sony service technician inspected the television after he registered a complaint. However, he alleges that Sony subsequently rejected his warranty request, citing external or physical damage to the panel.

Questioning the decision, Tiwari has asked Sony to provide evidence of the alleged physical damage. He maintains that the television had remained wall-mounted and says there was no visible external damage to the set.

The dispute escalated after Tiwari launched a website titled 'Sorry Bravia', where he documented his experience and shared details of his complaint. He claims that Sony subsequently sent him a legal notice asking him to remove the website and related social media posts.

Tiwari has further alleged that the notice mentioned potential damages of up to ₹5 crore if he failed to comply with the demands. He has indicated that he does not intend to take down the website.

The issue has since attracted attention on social media, with Tiwari calling on Sony to resolve the matter. However, the allegations made by the customer, including the details of the legal notice and the warranty dispute, have not been independently verified.
