Hero MotoCorp has appointed Shivalika Chadha Malik as head of external and internal communications, strengthening its leadership team as the two-wheeler major sharpens its focus on corporate reputation and stakeholder engagement across domestic and international markets.
Malik joins the company after a six-year stint at PepsiCo and will oversee corporate, brand, crisis and internal communications for Hero MotoCorp globally. She announced her appointment through a post on LinkedIn.
Role to span corporate, brand and crisis communications
In her new position, Malik will be responsible for driving the company’s communications strategy across multiple touchpoints, including leadership positioning, internal engagement, brand narrative and crisis management, as Hero MotoCorp continues to expand its global footprint.
The appointment comes at a time when large consumer-facing companies are placing greater emphasis on integrated communications to manage reputation, employer branding and stakeholder trust in a rapidly evolving media environment.
Six years across key communications roles at PepsiCo
Most recently, Malik served as associate director – brand communications for PepsiCo AMESA (Africa, Middle East and South Asia), where she handled regional brand communication initiatives.
Prior to that, she worked as associate director, corporate communications at PepsiCo India, leading corporate reputation management, employer branding and stakeholder communications. She began her tenure at PepsiCo as senior manager – communications, working across internal communications, leadership visibility and brand reputation.
Earlier career in public relations
Before joining PepsiCo, Malik spent more than 12 years at communications consultancy Avian Media, where she rose to the position of group business director, managing key client mandates and contributing to business development and growth.
She has also previously worked with public relations firm The PRactice as an account supervisor.
Her appointment adds to a series of senior leadership hires across India Inc as companies strengthen communications capabilities to navigate heightened scrutiny from consumers, investors and regulators.
