Zee Entertainment Enterprises is strengthening its non-fiction content portfolio with a slate of returning franchises and new formats across seven language markets: Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Marathi, Kannada, Malayalam and Bangla.
The expansion spans celebrity-led shows, cookery programmes, game shows and comedy formats across the broadcaster’s television channels and streaming platform Zee5. Its established non-fiction properties include Dance India Dance, Chhoriyan Chali Gaon, Dadagiri and Home Minister.
The broadcaster has recently launched Sa Re Ga Ma Pa across Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi and Malayalam. Its upcoming celebrity-led programming includes Jeena Isi Ka Naam Hai 2.0, hosted by R Madhavan, alongside The Mega Multiplex in Telugu and Legends in Tamil.
The cookery line-up features Varewa in Telugu, Samaiyal Express in Tamil, Kitchen Kalakar in Marathi and Oogarane Dabbi in Kannada.
In the game-show category, Zee plans to launch Lakhpati Didiya on Zee Anmol and Jodi No. 1 on Zee Keralam. Its comedy offerings include the return of Mirakkel on Zee Bangla and a new season of Chala Hawa Yeu Dya on Zee Marathi.
Raghavendra Hunsur, chief content officer at Zee Entertainment Enterprises, said non-fiction programming would play a key role in strengthening audience engagement, building on the broadcaster’s established franchises and regional formats.
He added that Zee is looking to develop intellectual properties for both television and digital audiences, while reviving popular shows for contemporary viewers and expanding formats originating in regional markets. The strategy also includes digital viewing opportunities through Zee5.
The expanded slate reflects Zee’s focus on building recurring non-fiction franchises across its language markets, with programming designed to encourage audience participation and strengthen engagement across television and streaming platforms.
