Travel + Leisure India & South Asia has appointed Geetika Sasan Bhandari as its new Editor-in-Chief. Alongside the expanded editorial mandate, Bhandari will continue in her role as Editorial Director at APX Luxury, bringing more than 25 years of experience across print and digital media to the position.
Bhandari’s editorial career spans several leading publications and media organisations, including India Today, The Times of India, Cosmopolitan, Better Homes and Gardens, Child and India Today Group Online. Over the course of her career, she has taken on editorial and leadership responsibilities across publishing, digital media and content strategy.
In addition to her new responsibility at Travel + Leisure India & South Asia, Bhandari will continue to lead Namaste.ai, Air India’s inflight magazine, with which she has been associated since its launch. She took over as its Editor-in-Chief in 2024 and has since played a role in shaping its editorial direction, with a stronger emphasis on narrative-led storytelling across art, lifestyle, culture, travel, people and music.
Commenting on her appointment, Bhandari said she was honoured to take on the leadership of Travel + Leisure India & South Asia, adding that travel has increasingly become a reflection of individual identity as well as a means of connecting with people and cultures. She noted that while technology and information have transformed how travellers plan their journeys, authoritative editorial voices continue to play an important role in helping audiences discover destinations and experiences that align with their interests.
Bhandari’s appointment comes as Travel + Leisure India & South Asia marks 20 years in the Indian market. Her mandate is expected to further shape the publication’s editorial identity and strengthen its perspective on travel and lifestyle at a time when the way audiences discover, evaluate and experience travel continues to evolve.
Annesha Sanyal, Country Director, India - Sales & Marketing, APX Luxury Limited, said Bhandari brings a combination of editorial expertise, industry understanding and an international outlook to the role. Sanyal also highlighted Bhandari’s experience with leading publications and her work in developing the editorial voice of Namaste.ai, describing these strengths as valuable as the brand enters its next phase.
