The PRactice Group has expanded its communications mandate for The Earthshot Prize, bringing ON PURPOSE on board as its creator engagement partner ahead of the environmental initiative’s 2026 Awards in Mumbai.
The move builds on The PRactice’s appointment as the Prize’s strategic communications partner in India in December 2025. Under the expanded engagement, The PRactice and ON PURPOSE will combine their expertise across media relations, content and creator engagement to build awareness and audience participation around the upcoming awards.
Founded by Prince William in 2020, The Earthshot Prize aims to accelerate environmental action by identifying and supporting solutions to some of the planet’s most pressing challenges. Since its inception, the initiative has supported 75 finalists and awarded £25 million to winners.
The Earthshot Prize will be held in Mumbai on November 16–17, 2026, with the programme culminating in its sixth annual Awards Night on November 17. Five winners will each receive £1 million to scale their environmental solutions. India has seven finalists, including four winners, making it the country with the highest representation in the Prize’s history.
The Mumbai event is expected to bring together environmental leaders, innovators, businesses, investors and philanthropists. Sachin Tendulkar, Alia Bhatt, Rami Malek, Shreya Ghoshal, Sonam Kapoor and Simone Ashley are among those set to attend, alongside host Karan Johar and Earthshot Ambassadors Robert Irwin and Nomzamo Mbatha. The event is expected to welcome 5,000 distinguished guests.
Commenting on the expanded engagement, Girish Balachandran, Group CEO, The PRactice Group, said the partnership would help shift climate communications from highlighting the scale of environmental challenges to showcasing solutions and the people driving change. He added that the Prize’s arrival in India presents an opportunity to take these stories to Indian and international audiences through media, creators, industry leaders and cultural voices.
Joanna Swift, Executive Director of Communications at The Earthshot Prize, said India plays an important role in the initiative, both for the solutions emerging from the country and for the audiences it hopes to engage. She acknowledged The PRactice’s work since December 2025 and said the addition of ON PURPOSE would help bring finalists’ stories to new audiences ahead of the November event.
The expanded mandate reflects The PRactice Group’s integrated communications approach, drawing on the capabilities of its two independent brands across reputation management, media, content, digital, creator engagement, social impact, climate action and culture.
The 2026 cohort features 15 finalists across five categories: Protect and Restore Nature, Clean Our Air, Revive Our Oceans, Build a Waste-Free World, and Fix Our Climate. The five winners will be announced at the Mumbai Awards Night on November 17.
