The Public Relations Council of India Appoints Dr T Vinayakumar as Chairman of Governing Council

Veteran communications professional Dr T Vinayakumar returns to a leadership role as PRCI reconstitutes its governing council and outlines its national agenda for the year.

The Public Relations Council of India (PRCI) has appointed Dr T Vinayakumar as the chairman of its Governing Council, formalising the decision at an event held in Bengaluru.

Dr Vinayakumar brings more than four decades of experience spanning advertising and public relations to the role. He is the founder and senior partner of Guide Advertising & PR and currently serves as chairman of Kome Vertika. He is also the trustee and founder secretary of the Pepper Creative Awards Trust.

Return to PRCI leadership

The appointment marks Dr Vinayakumar’s return to a leadership position within PRCI, having earlier served as the organisation’s national president. His elevation comes as PRCI undertakes the reconstitution of its governing council.

Commenting on his appointment, Dr Vinayakumar said: “Our mission remains steadfast: to provide a platform for professionals to excel and to ensure that the voice of Indian communication resonates on a global stage.”

New governing council announced

Alongside the chairman’s appointment, PRCI announced the formation of its new governing council. Chinmaye Praveen, K Ravindran, CJ Singh, Dr T S Latha, Arijit Majumdar, Dr B K Ravi and Ravi Mahapatra have been appointed as directors.

MB Jayaram, Srinivas Murthy B, Geetha Shanker, the national president of PRCI, S Narendra and Dr K R Venugopal will continue in their roles as directors.

Key national executive roles

PRCI also announced additional appointments to its national executive. Dr Prashanth Venugopal has been named chairman of the Young Communicators Club, while Pashupathi Sharma has taken charge as secretary general. U S Kutty has been appointed senior vice president of the national executive.

National footprint and upcoming events

Founded in 2004 by MB Jayaram and a group of communication professionals, PRCI operates through more than 60 chapters across India. The organisation said it will host a CEO meet in Delhi, mark its foundation day celebrations in Kolkata in April, and organise the 20th Global Communication Conclave in Chandigarh later this year.
