Prabhkiran Singh, Founder and CEO of direct-to-consumer fashion brand Bewakoof, has announced that he will step down from his role by the end of March 2026, bringing to a close a 14-year entrepreneurial journey.

Singh shared the update in a LinkedIn post, describing the decision as deeply personal and reflective. He said he would continue to lead the company until March-end before formally exiting to prioritise his health, family and personal goals.

“I have decided to leave Bewakoof, the company I co-founded and have led for the past 14 years. BEWAKOOF has been my baby since I was 21 years old. I was inspired by Walt Disney, and I, too, wanted to create something that lasted 100 years,” Singh wrote.

Founded in 2011, Bewakoof began from modest surroundings in Mumbai. Singh recalled starting the company as a newly graduated engineer with no prior business experience. At a time when equity funding was scarce and the direct-to-consumer (D2C) model was still nascent in India, the founders built the brand gradually, often handling operations themselves.

Reflecting on the early days, Singh noted that limited funds meant the team had to take on multiple roles. He recounted making t-shirt deliveries via local trains and personally responding to customer queries, underscoring the hands-on approach that shaped the company’s formative years.

Over the years, Bewakoof grew into a prominent D2C fashion brand catering to young consumers, known for its quirky designs and digital-first strategy. Singh’s departure marks a significant leadership transition for the company as it enters its next phase of growth.
