Natasha Kapoor has been appointed to a global leadership role at Meta, moving from the Asia-Pacific region to the United States to lead media strategy for the company’s wearables business.

Based in New York, Kapoor will now be responsible for directing worldwide media planning and investment for Meta’s expanding portfolio of wearable devices, as the technology major accelerates efforts to scale the category across key international markets.

From APAC leadership to global mandate

Kapoor’s elevation comes after more than five years of senior leadership roles across India and the wider Asia-Pacific region, where she played a pivotal role in shaping Meta’s media strategy in some of its fastest-growing and most competitive markets.

In her most recent assignment, she headed strategic media planning across multiple markets, overseeing campaigns for the Meta family of apps in India and contributing to broader regional media leadership initiatives.

She joined Meta in January 2021 and has since held several senior positions spanning strategic planning and media operations, working closely on aligning media investments with the company’s evolving business priorities across the region.

Two decades across media, tech and FMCG

Prior to joining Meta, Kapoor served as principal partner at Mindshare, where she led the agency’s media mandate for Unilever’s skincare and cleansing portfolio.

Her earlier career includes senior roles at Starcom Mediavest Group, Mediacom, Samsung, Indiabulls Real Estate and Pearl Media, building extensive experience across media planning, buying, procurement and research.

With more than two decades in the industry, Kapoor has worked across FMCG, technology, consumer electronics and real estate sectors, managing large, multi-market media operations and complex brand portfolios.

“A new professional and personal chapter”

Announcing her move on LinkedIn, Kapoor described the transition as the start of a new phase in both her career and life.

She said the role brings “new opportunities” along with a relocation to a new city, and expressed gratitude to the mentors, teams and colleagues who have shaped her professional journey so far.

Meta sharpens focus on wearables

Kapoor’s appointment underscores Meta’s growing focus on building a robust global media framework for its wearables business, as the company looks to strengthen its position in the category and drive adoption across major international markets.
