Mumbai Falcons Racing has named Shreyas Iyer as the official brand ambassador for its Formula 1 esports initiative in India, marking a key step in expanding the country’s competitive sim racing ecosystem.
The appointment comes as part of Mumbai Falcons’ plans to host the F1 Sim Racing India Open 2026, an officially sanctioned competition under Formula 1. The championship aims to create a structured pathway for aspiring racers across India to compete at a national level.
The tournament will be played on F1 25, the official game of the FIA Formula 1 World Championship. Participants will race on authentic circuits using formats and team liveries aligned with the global series, with access across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox platforms.
Mumbai Falcons said the collaboration reflects its broader vision of building a multi-disciplinary sporting culture in India by combining traditional sports influence with emerging digital formats.
Speaking on the association, Iyer said the initiative resonates with his belief in discipline and performance, adding that he was drawn to the opportunity to support a platform that provides young Indian talent with access and growth opportunities in motorsport.
Ameet Gadhoke, managing director of Mumbai Falcons Racing, noted that the organisation was founded on the belief that India possesses world-class sporting talent, but often lacks the structural support needed to nurture it. He added that bringing the F1 Sim Racing India Open to life is a step towards bridging that gap.
Registrations for the championship opened on April 30, 2026, via the MFRL app, available on both Android and iOS platforms.
