Tata Capital has unveiled a new marketing campaign titled Champions Ki Galliyon Mein ahead of the fourth season of the TATA Women’s Premier League (WPL), reaffirming its role as a premier partner of the tournament.
Centred on a film set in a neighbourhood gully, the campaign highlights young girls playing informal street cricket, drawing a connection between grassroots sporting spaces and professional achievement. The narrative unfolds as current WPL players join the game, reflecting on their own early journeys in the sport and underscoring how champions are shaped long before they step into stadiums.
Grassroots beginnings take centre stage
The film shifts focus away from floodlit arenas to everyday neighbourhoods where sporting aspirations often take root. By spotlighting informal play and community spaces, the campaign seeks to underline the role of access, encouragement and persistence in nurturing future talent.
The campaign comes at a time when women’s cricket in India continues to gain momentum, with the WPL playing a key role in expanding visibility, participation and professional opportunities for female cricketers. This year marks Tata Capital’s fourth consecutive year of association with the league.
Brand association with women’s cricket
Commenting on the campaign, Abonty Banerjee, COO – Digital, Technology and Marketing, Tata Capital, said, “Women’s cricket has reached a defining moment, and we are proud to have supported this journey from its early days. Our continued association with the TATA WPL reflects our strong belief in the league’s growing influence and its power to inspire across generations.”
She added, “Champions Ki Galliyon Mein is a tribute to the courage and consistent support that transform raw talent into world-class champions and a reflection of our brand promise to always Count on Us, whether it’s nurturing ambition on the field or supporting aspirations beyond it.”
Multi-platform rollout during tournament
The campaign is being rolled out across television, digital and social media platforms, along with on-ground integrations during the tournament. The fourth season of the TATA Women’s Premier League is set to begin on January 9, with matches scheduled to be held in Navi Mumbai and Vadodara.
By linking neighbourhood cricket to elite performance, Tata Capital’s latest campaign seeks to reinforce the idea that the journey to professional sport often begins in the most familiar of spaces — the gallis where dreams first take shape.
