JioHotstar has expanded its international presence with its launch in the UK, Canada and Singapore, marking a significant step in JioStar’s ambition to build a global entertainment platform.

The international rollout brings JioHotstar’s extensive catalogue to audiences across the three markets, combining more than 160,000 hours of content across 12+ languages with personalised recommendations, interactive features, flexible subscription options and an enhanced viewing experience.

The platform is positioning itself as a destination for premium Indian entertainment, offering television, films, regional programming, non-fiction, kids’ content and anime. While the service is designed to cater primarily to the South Asian diaspora, JioHotstar is also targeting global audiences interested in stories, languages and cultures from India and beyond. The platform plans to add more than 30,000 hours of fresh content annually.

As part of its international launch, JioHotstar has unveiled a slate of new originals and blockbuster premieres, including Ali Baba Aur Chaalis Bhoot, Prince of Mollywood, Part Timers and The Court, along with movie premieres scheduled throughout the year.

The platform is also introducing an interactive viewing experience for Bigg Boss. Audiences in the UK, Canada and Singapore will be able to vote live across all six language editions of the reality franchise, allowing viewers to influence the show in real time. Subscribers in Canada and the UK will also get access to a 24x7 live feed, while Canadian viewers will be able to watch Bigg Boss Hindi seven days ahead of its television broadcast.

Another addition is India Ka Top 1 Percent, a new game show hosted by Anil Kapoor that tests contestants on logic and reasoning. The show will be available to audiences in Canada and Singapore.

JioHotstar will also offer content from JioStar’s television network, including Star Plus, Colors, Star Vijay, Asianet, Star Jalsha and Star Pravah. Viewers in Singapore and Canada will get before-TV access to select popular shows such as Anupama, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Seher Hone Ko Hai and Azhagae Azhagu. In the UK, audiences will be able to watch select shows simultaneously with their television broadcast.

The international library will further include popular originals such as Criminal Justice, Special Ops, Chiraiya, Pritam & Pedro, Asur, Aarya, Heartbeat, Vikram on Duty, Kerala Crime Files, Resort and Kaattaan. Reality franchises including Koffee with Karan, Khatron Ke Khiladi, MTV Hustle, Splitsvilla, Laughter Chefs - Unlimited Entertainment, Roadies and Cooku with Comali will also be available.

The movie catalogue includes titles such as Vaazha, Dhurandhar, Chhichhore, Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh, Kill, 12th Fail and Jab We Met, among others.

JioHotstar said its product experience has been designed around easier content discovery and personalised viewing. The platform uses recommendation technology to adapt to individual viewing habits, while subtitles and dubs across more than 12 Asian languages are aimed at making the service accessible to multi-generational and multicultural households.

Commenting on the international expansion, Amit Malhotra, Head of International Business, JioStar, said the opportunity goes beyond exporting an Indian streaming service to new markets.

He said JioHotstar aims to rethink how audiences discover, engage with and participate in entertainment, particularly as viewers increasingly seek stories and cultures beyond their own markets.

Malhotra added that the company’s international ambition is to demonstrate what is possible when scale, language diversity, cultural relevance, personalisation and deeper audience participation are incorporated into the streaming experience from the outset.
