Global ice cream giant Baskin-Robbins is diversifying its portfolio by launching a range of baked desserts that do not rely on an ice cream base. While the brand has historically offered ice cream cakes, frozen beverages, and dessert-flavoured sundaes, this move marks a significant departure from its core frozen treats into the broader bakery category.
The new "Treats Beyond Ice Cream" lineup includes artisanal baked goods designed to cater to consumers seeking traditional, non-frozen confectionery. Leading the new range are baked cheesecakes, available in variants like Classic, Mango Sauce, and Tiramisu, alongside premium layered mousse cakes, including Caramel and Strawberry Mousse flavours.
Founded globally in 1945 by brothers-in-law Burt Baskin and Irv Robbins in Glendale, California, the brand became famous in the industry with its iconic "31 flavors" philosophy, one for each day of the month. Today, it stands as one of the world's largest chains of ice cream speciality shops, with over 8,000 locations worldwide.
Baskin Robbins entered the Indian market in 1993 through a joint venture with the Graviss Group, opening its first parlour in Mumbai.
