Times Network has appointed Subhajit Sengupta as Vice President and Head of Social Media & Video Monetisation, marking his return to the network after a two-year stint with HT Digital Streams.
Sengupta was most recently associated with HT Digital Streams as Head of Video & Social Media, where he led the organisation’s video business, including revenue generation through programmatic and IP-led monetisation. He was also responsible for driving audience growth across platforms and managed a team of more than 80 professionals spanning social media, editorial and video revenue functions.
His new role at Times Network brings together social media strategy and video monetisation, areas that have become increasingly central to the growth and revenue strategies of digital media organisations. Sengupta will draw on his experience across content, audience development, platform strategy and commercialisation as he takes charge of the mandate.
This is Sengupta’s second stint with Times Network. He first joined the organisation in November 2021 as Group Lead, Digital Videos & Social Media and was subsequently elevated to Associate Vice President, Digital Video Strategy, in October 2023. During his earlier tenure, he led digital video operations across Times Network’s brands, including Times Now, ET Now, ET Now Swadesh, Times Now Navbharat, Mirror Now and Sports Now.
Sengupta also played a role in advancing AI-led solutions within newsroom workflows during his previous association with Times Network, reflecting his focus on combining editorial capabilities with emerging technologies and evolving digital consumption patterns.
Sengupta brings more than 18 years of experience across journalism, digital video, social media and media leadership. Before joining Times Network for the first time, he was Deputy Group Head, Digital Videos at Network18 Media & Investments.
