Journalist Stacy Pereira has joined Gulf News as a Business Reporter, marking a new chapter in her journalism career following her move to the UAE.

Pereira brings more than a decade of experience across broadcast and digital journalism. Prior to joining Gulf News, she worked with prominent Indian media organisations including CNBC-TV18, Moneycontrol, ET Now and NDTV, taking on roles spanning reporting, anchoring, production and editorial responsibilities. Her experience has included extensive coverage of business, markets and economic developments.

Her move to Gulf News follows her relocation to the UAE, where she has spent time familiarising herself with the region, its business environment and the economic forces shaping its growth. The experience, she noted in her LinkedIn announcement, has helped her understand not only how businesses operate in the region but also the UAE’s growing significance in the global geopolitical and economic landscape.

In her new role, Pereira will report on markets and macroeconomic developments, while also bringing stories of the businesses and people driving activity on the ground. Her mandate comes at a time when the UAE continues to emerge as a significant hub for global business, investment and trade.

Pereira announced the move on LinkedIn, describing the UAE as an exciting market for business journalism and expressing her intent to focus on stories that matter to businesses and audiences across the region.

She also acknowledged Mark Desmond Thompson and Anupam Varma for the opportunity and their confidence in her, adding that she looks forward to exploring stories under their mentorship.
