Nazara Technologies has signed definitive agreements, through its UK subsidiary, to acquire a 50% controlling stake in Spain-based Bluetile Games and BestPlay Systems for $100.3 million (approximately ₹918 crore).
Bluetile, formerly known as Playvalve, operates a portfolio of casual and social mobile games including Yatzy, Domino Legends, Mahjong Voyage, and Spade Stars. The platform has scaled significantly, clocking nearly 375 million downloads and 22 million monthly active users across 17 live titles.
BestPlay Systems complements this ecosystem with a rewarded engagement platform focused on game discovery, user acquisition, retention, and cross-promotion within mobile gaming networks.
A key highlight of the acquisition is Bluetile’s deep integration of artificial intelligence across its operations—from game development and data infrastructure to marketing and live operations—enabling faster development cycles and more efficient scaling.
Led by founder Raymond Stauffer, a former Google executive and MIT alumnus, the company brings leadership experience from global gaming and tech firms such as Zynga, King, Voodoo, Moonactive, and Meta.
Nazara CEO Nitish Mittersain said the acquisition strengthens the company’s capabilities across development, engagement, and distribution, while aligning with its strategy to build AI-driven, globally scalable gaming businesses.
Stauffer added that the partnership with Nazara will help accelerate Bluetile’s growth, leveraging the Indian gaming firm’s capital, global reach, and strategic expertise.
The combined platform is expected to enhance AI-enabled game development, publishing, and distribution, positioning Nazara to scale next-generation casual and social gaming titles globally.
