Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios have appointed Serena Menon as Head of Communications for the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, strengthening their leadership team as the company continues to expand its presence across key international markets.
Based in Mumbai, Menon will lead communications across India, Japan and Southeast Asia, overseeing brand, content and corporate storytelling for both Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios. She announced the appointment through a LinkedIn post, calling it "a new chapter" in her career.
"An incredibly diverse and complex region, APAC is a growth engine, and I look forward to working with teams across India, Japan, and Southeast Asia to shape what comes next," Menon wrote.
Menon joined the company in April 2026 and now leads communications teams across multiple markets, with responsibility for shaping narratives around Prime Video, Amazon MGM Studios' content portfolio and the broader business.
She brings over a decade of experience across entertainment, communications and journalism. Before joining Amazon, Menon spent more than seven years at Netflix, where she held several leadership positions.
Most recently, she served as Director, Public Relations, India, leading the streaming platform's communications strategy and reputation management until February 2026. Prior to that, she was Director, Photo and AV Studio, Asia-Pacific, overseeing creative teams across India, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan and Southeast Asia. She was also the founding member of Netflix's India Photo and AV Studio.
Before transitioning into corporate communications, Menon built an editorial career at ELLE India, where she served as Managing Editor and Associate Editor, leading editorial operations and branded content initiatives spanning fashion, film and lifestyle.
She also worked with Hindustan Times and Hindustan Times Cafe, covering entertainment and popular culture while managing editorial teams and writing a weekly column.
The appointment comes as Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios continue to invest in original content and regional programming across Asia-Pacific, with the region playing an increasingly important role in Amazon's global streaming strategy. Menon's experience across communications, content marketing and editorial leadership is expected to support the company's engagement with audiences, creators and media stakeholders across the region.
