The Delhi School of Communication (DSC) inaugurated the 32nd batch of its flagship two-year Post Graduate Diploma Programme in Communication (PGDPC), marking another milestone in its more than three-decade journey of preparing communications professionals. The ceremony was held at the Alliance Française de Delhi.
The event was attended by Anushka Seth, Head of Communications for Asia-Pacific at the British Council, as the chief guest, while Seshadri Mitra, Marketing Lead at the India Global Forum and a DSC alumnus from the 2016–18 batch, attended as the guest of honour.
Addressing the incoming students, Seth said that while the communications profession is evolving rapidly, trust remains its defining foundation. She encouraged students to complement technical expertise with curiosity, integrity and empathy, adding that effective communicators are those who build meaningful connections through authentic storytelling.
Reflecting on his journey as an alumnus, Mitra urged students to make the most of their time at DSC by embracing new experiences, collaborating with peers and expressing their ideas freely. He said the institute would help them discover their strengths and shape their professional identities.
DSC Dean Ramola Kumar highlighted the importance of continuous learning throughout one's career, stressing that professionals must be willing to learn, unlearn and relearn as industries evolve. She described career building as a lifelong investment driven by passion and adaptability.
The institute also reiterated its strong industry connect, stating that students will have access to internship and placement opportunities across leading communications, advertising and public relations firms, including Edelman, Adfactors PR, VML, FCB, Ogilvy, McCann, Landor, MSL, Rediffusion, Omnicom Group and Havas Media.
To encourage academic excellence, DSC presented several scholarships and industry-sponsored awards during the ceremony. The institute's "Maverick of the Year" award, instituted by The Mavericks, offers ₹75,000, a certificate of merit and a job opportunity to an outstanding student. Corporate excellence awards supported by Consocia Advisory and Media Mantra were also highlighted.
Among this year's student recognitions, Aditya Lali, Shreya Roy Choudhury and Kriti Singh received admission awards for their performance in the essay competition held during the admissions process, while Pihu Mahapatra was awarded a ₹20,000 scholarship for securing the top position in the second semester. Several students were also recognised by corporate partners for their performance and commitment during internships.
