Burson Group has appointed Kapil Sharma as Chief Client Officer for India, strengthening the agency’s leadership team as it looks to deepen client partnerships and drive growth across key sectors.

In his new role, Sharma will report to Deepshikha Dharmaraj, CEO of Burson Group India, and will focus on expanding relationships with the agency’s key clients while driving long-term business growth and retention. He will also lead new business development across sectors such as automotive, aviation, travel, manufacturing, renewable energy, and professional services.

Sharma returns to Burson, where he began his communications career through the agency’s Associate Learning Programme. He brings over two decades of experience in strategic communications and reputation management across global brands.

Before rejoining Burson, Sharma spent more than 12 years at Ford Motor Company. During his tenure, he served as Head of Communications, India, overseeing corporate, brand, CSR, and social communications for the company. Most recently, he was Director of Communications for Ford’s International Markets Group, based in Bangkok, where he managed product communications across nine international markets and led integrated go-to-market campaigns.

Earlier in his career, Sharma also handled communications for BMW India.

Commenting on the appointment, Deepshikha Dharmaraj said Sharma’s experience and understanding of communications would help strengthen Burson India’s capabilities and support the agency’s focus on delivering transformative, innovation-led solutions for clients.
