BrandCommunion is set to host Spotlight Awards in January 2027, an awards platform recognising outstanding work across the evolving brand, communications and public relations ecosystem.

The initiative will bring together independent and indigenous PR agencies, global agency networks, brand in-house communication teams and other professionals contributing to impactful brand-building and reputation-led work. Both brands and agencies will be eligible to participate through a nomination-based process, with entries subsequently evaluated by an independent jury.

Spotlight Awards will look beyond the size or scale of an organisation to recognise the ideas, campaigns, strategic thinking, execution and impact shaping the communications industry.

Among the key recognitions will be categories such as Agency of the Year and Campaign of the Year, alongside awards recognising excellence across agencies, brands, in-house teams and individual areas of communications.

The awards will provide an opportunity for independent agencies to compete alongside established global networks, while also giving brands and their in-house teams a platform to showcase campaigns and communication initiatives that have made a measurable difference.

The winners will be selected through a jury-led evaluation process, with nominations assessed on parameters relevant to the respective categories. The process is designed to bring industry expertise and independent evaluation into the recognition of the work being showcased.

Speaking about Spotlight Awards, Karan Bhatia, Founder, BrandCommunion, said, “The communications landscape today is far more diverse than it was a few years ago. Independent agencies are building influential brands, global networks continue to drive large-scale campaigns, and in-house teams are taking greater ownership of reputation and communication. Spotlight is intended to bring these different parts of the ecosystem onto one platform and recognise the work that deserves attention.

He added, “The nomination and jury-led format is central to the initiative. We want the spotlight to remain on the work, the thinking behind it, the execution and the impact it creates rather than simply the size of the organisation behind it.

Spotlight Awards will accept nominations from brands, agencies and eligible communication professionals, with further details on categories, nomination timelines, jury and participation criteria to be announced ahead of the January 2027 event.
