Abhi Mahapatra launches integrated communications firm AMPERA

After four years as Director of Communications at Amazon India, Abhi Mahapatra has moved on to launch AMPERA, a new integrated communications firm positioned at the intersection of policy, media, influencers, data, and culture.

Announcing the venture through a LinkedIn post, Mahapatra described Ampera as a response to the evolving nature of modern communications. “Every story of impact begins quietly. Not with noise, but with intent,” he wrote, adding that the firm has been built after months of piloting, beta testing, and reworking its foundational ideas.

He announced that the company is introducing a strategic communications audit, a tool designed to measure the impact of PR efforts and evaluate their return on investment (ROI).

Ampera aims to move beyond traditional public relations frameworks, focusing instead on integrated communication strategies that cut across silos and prioritise measurable impact over vanity metrics.



Mahapatra emphasised that the firm is “designed for impact, not just applause,” reflecting a broader shift in how brands approach storytelling and engagement in a fragmented media landscape.

Before his stint at Amazon, Mahapatra held senior communications roles across organisations including Nissan Motor Corporation, Uber, Ford Motor Company and Edelman
