Maruti Suzuki India has announced that its Eeco van has crossed the 15 lakh cumulative sales milestone in India, reinforcing its position in the country’s van segment.
Launched in January 2010 and developed specifically for the Indian market, the Eeco has built a diverse customer base spanning families, entrepreneurs, businesses and institutions. The model has been positioned around space, practicality, versatility and reliability across passenger, cargo and specialised mobility requirements.
The Eeco has accelerated its sales momentum over the years. While the first five lakh units took eight years to sell, the next five lakh were sold in less than five years. The latest five lakh units were sold in just three-and-a-half years, making it the fastest five lakh sales milestone in the model’s journey.
Commenting on the milestone, Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing & Sales, Maruti Suzuki India, said the achievement reflects the trust customers have placed in the Eeco over the years. He highlighted the vehicle’s role across family mobility, entrepreneurship and essential services, adding that 65% of Eeco sales came from rural markets in FY 2025-26. First-time buyers account for 55% of customers, while more than 51% of Eeco customers are business owners.
The Eeco portfolio currently comprises 13 variants across 5-seater and 6-seater passenger versions, Tour V, Ambulance and Cargo models. It is available with petrol and S-CNG powertrain options, allowing it to cater to family transportation, tourism, cargo movement, businesses and institutional requirements.
Maruti Suzuki has also expanded the Eeco’s appeal through product updates. The latest version is powered by a 1.2-litre Advanced K-Series Dual Jet, Dual VVT petrol engine, offering claimed fuel efficiency of 19.71 km/l in petrol and 26.78 km/kg in S-CNG. The share of S-CNG in Eeco sales has increased four-fold, from 12% in FY 2019-20 to 48% in FY 2025-26.
Safety features on the 2026 Eeco include six airbags as standard, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors, three-point ELR seatbelts, seatbelt reminders, a speed alert system and side-impact beams. The van also comes with features such as a digital instrument cluster, air conditioning, HVAC controls, a dome lamp with battery saver function and reclining front seats.
To mark the 15 lakh sales milestone, Maruti Suzuki has introduced the Eeco Star Edition. The special edition features 18 exterior and interior accessories, along with body-coloured bumpers, aimed at giving the van a more premium and contemporary look while enhancing the cabin experience.
