Blurb: Netflix has appointed Dani Dudeck as its chief communications officer, effective January 12, 2026, as the streaming giant navigates a pivotal phase marked by its proposed $82.7 billion acquisition of Warner Bros.

Netflix has appointed Dani Dudeck as its new chief communications officer, according to media reports. Dudeck will assume the role on January 12, 2026, reporting to Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos. The position has remained vacant since the exit of Rachel Whetstone earlier this year.

Dudeck joins Netflix from Instacart, where she served as chief corporate affairs officer. She brings with her extensive experience in corporate communications and public affairs, having previously held senior communications roles at Zynga and MySpace.

Appointment Linked to High-Stakes Warner Bros. Deal

The leadership move comes as Netflix pursues a proposed $82.7 billion acquisition of Warner Bros., a deal that could significantly alter the global entertainment industry. According to media reports, Netflix co-CEOs Ted Sarandos and Greg Peters have told employees they remain “confident” of securing the necessary regulatory approvals for the transaction.

The executives have also expressed confidence in their ability to counter Paramount’s hostile, all-cash counter-bid, which has emerged as a key challenge to the deal.

Operational Continuity Promised

Netflix has publicly stated that it intends to “maintain Warner Bros.’ current operations and build on its strengths,” including preserving the studio’s theatrical film slate. Industry observers, however, note that the completion of the acquisition would dramatically reshape the future of the entertainment landscape, given the scale and influence of both companies.

Strategic Communications Role

Dudeck’s appointment is seen as strategically significant as Netflix navigates heightened regulatory scrutiny, competitive pressure, and industry-wide transformation tied to the proposed acquisition. She is expected to play a central role in steering the company’s communications strategy during one of the most consequential phases in its corporate history.
