Saurabh Saksena, former president of VML India, has launched SAULV, a new integrated communications agency that positions artificial intelligence as a central driver of modern marketing and strategic communications.
The agency has been conceived to address the evolving needs of brands operating in an increasingly AI-led environment. Announcing the launch on LinkedIn, Saksena invited brands to engage with the new venture, saying, “If there’s something keeping you up at night, maybe it’s time to SAULV it.”
Agency Positioned Around AI-Led Marketing
SAULV’s proposition centres on combining imagination with artificial intelligence to deliver what the agency describes as transformative outcomes for brands and businesses. Its service offering spans strategic communications, full-funnel amplification, creative and content development, and large-scale AI-enabled production.
According to Saksena, the objective is to move brands beyond traditional storytelling frameworks and towards building stronger, more consistent audience connections.
Leadership Background and Industry Experience
Saksena brings more than three decades of experience across advertising, integrated marketing, consumer behaviour and business leadership. Before founding SAULV, he served as president of VML India. He exited the role in mid-2024 following the global merger of VMLY&R and Wunderman Thompson.
During his tenure, Saksena was involved in steering integrated marketing operations and navigating organisational changes linked to the merger.
Shift to Entrepreneurship and Gen AI
Reflecting on the transition, Saksena said the past year and a half has seen him operate simultaneously as a learner, practitioner and creator. He said the process involved pairing entrepreneurial discipline with hands-on engagement in generative AI.
The experience, he added, has made him “very comfortably adept at Gen AI” while also requiring him to revisit the operational fundamentals involved in building and managing a business.
