The Indian Express has appointed Sree Shakti as its Head of Originals & Video Strategy, strengthening its focus on digital-first storytelling and audience engagement.
In his new role, Shakti will spearhead the publication’s original video initiatives and social media strategy. He will focus on expanding the platform’s digital footprint, developing new-age storytelling formats, and building deeper connections with younger audiences.
Shakti joins from Brut India, where he served as Executive Editor, leading editorial strategy and operations across both English and Hindi verticals. During his tenure, the platform witnessed significant growth, scaling its annual audience from 3 billion to 8 billion views. He also played a key role in maintaining Brut India’s strong position across major platforms such as Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram, while overseeing cross-platform publishing and talent development.
Prior to Brut India, Shakti held leadership roles at Times Network as Deputy News Editor and at Mirror Now as Senior Producer. His earlier stints include editorial positions at NewsX and TV9 Network.
With this appointment, The Indian Express aims to further strengthen its digital storytelling capabilities and build high-impact content for evolving audience preferences.
