Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) has acquired the television and digital broadcast rights for the Indian Football League (IFL), previously known as the I-League, for the 2025–26 season.

With this move, SPNI expands its football portfolio by adding a key domestic competition to its existing roster, which already includes the Indian Super League, Durand Cup, UEFA EURO 2028, and the UEFA Champions League.

The Indian Football League plays a significant role in India’s football ecosystem, featuring clubs from across regions and serving as a platform for emerging talent. The acquisition enables SPNI to offer a more comprehensive mix of international and domestic football content to viewers.

Commenting on the development, Rajesh Kaul, Chief Revenue Officer and Business Head – Sports and International at SPNI, highlighted the league’s importance in nurturing grassroots talent and deepening fan engagement across the country. He added that the deal aligns with the network’s vision of building a well-rounded football ecosystem for Indian audiences.

M. Satyanarayan, Deputy Secretary General of the All India Football Federation (AIFF), welcomed the partnership, expressing confidence in the league’s competitiveness and appeal in the upcoming season. He noted that the tournament’s distinct identity and close title races continue to resonate with fans.
