Zee Entertainment Appoints Sandeep Mehrotra as COO – Advertisement Revenue

The media major strengthens its monetisation leadership as it sharpens focus on integrated linear and digital ad growth.

Zee Entertainment Enterprises has appointed Sandeep Mehrotra as chief operating officer – advertisement revenue, with effect from February 3, 2026. Mehrotra will be based in Mumbai and will report to the company’s chief executive officer, Punit Goenka.

Driving Integrated Ad Monetisation

In his new role, Mehrotra will be tasked with strengthening Zee’s advertisement revenue across both linear television and digital platforms, with a strong emphasis on convergence and integration between the two segments. Laxmi Shetty will continue to lead the advertisement revenue vertical for broadcast and digital and will now report to Mehrotra.

The leadership move comes as Zee recalibrates its monetisation strategy to reflect evolving viewer consumption habits and the growing overlap between traditional television and digital platforms.

Three Decades of Industry Experience

Mehrotra brings over 30 years of experience spanning advertising sales, revenue strategy and large-scale profit-and-loss management. Prior to joining Zee, he was associated with Culver Max Entertainment (formerly Sony Pictures Networks India), where he served as head of advertisement sales for the network’s channels.

CEO Emphasises Outcome-Driven Growth

Commenting on the appointment, Punit Goenka said the changing media landscape requires sharper and more adaptive monetisation approaches.

“The evolving entertainment landscape demands sharper monetisation strategies that are outcome-driven and platform agnostic. As we sharpen our revenue generation capabilities to build sustained growth for the future, we are also taking strategic steps to enhance our bench strength with experienced leaders,” Goenka said.
