YAAP has appointed Sambit Mohanty as its Group Chief Creative Officer, reinforcing the company's focus on creativity as a key pillar of growth and innovation.

Mohanty brings more than two decades of experience across leading agency networks, including JWT, DDB, Bates, Elephant Design and McCann Worldgroup. Throughout his career, he has worked on award-winning campaigns that have earned recognition at major international and Indian award shows, including Cannes Lions, Clio Awards, D&AD, One Show, Spikes Asia, Effies, Kyoorius and Abbys.

Among his notable works is the ‘Shagun Ka Lifafa’ campaign for Ujjivan Small Finance Bank, which won a Gold Lion at Cannes and secured honours at the Clio Awards, D&AD, APAC Effies and the Jay Chiat Awards. More recently, his ‘Dabba Savings Account’ campaign for ESAF Small Finance Bank received recognition at Cannes Lions, D&AD and the Global Grand Effies.

In his new role, Mohanty will oversee creative leadership across the YAAP network, integrating brand storytelling, content, social media, influencer marketing, technology and artificial intelligence into a unified creative offering.

Commenting on the appointment, Dr. Atul Hegde, Founder of YAAP, said the future of marketing will belong to organisations capable of combining media, technology and creativity effectively. He added that Mohanty's appointment reflects YAAP's ambition to build a business where these disciplines work together to drive growth.

Mohanty said the traditional boundaries separating advertising, content, creators, social media and technology have increasingly blurred, creating opportunities for integrated ideas that can travel seamlessly across platforms and audiences. He added that YAAP's entrepreneurial culture and digital-first mindset made it an exciting platform for shaping the next phase of growth.

The appointment comes during a period of expansion for YAAP. Following its public listing earlier this year and the acquisition of GoZoop, the company has significantly broadened its capabilities and market presence. YAAP currently operates across eight offices spanning India, the UAE and Singapore, with a workforce of more than 400 professionals.
