Sumit Jain, co-founder of Unacademy and CEO of its test-preparation vertical, has announced that he will be stepping down from his full-time operational role.

Jain shared the update through a social media post, stating that his last working day with the company will be June 30. He is expected to continue his association with Unacademy in an advisory capacity.

He has been leading the company’s test-prep vertical since 2020, playing a key role in scaling that segment of the business.

The move comes ahead of Unacademy’s proposed merger with upGrad, as the company looks to restructure its leadership and operations.
