Uber has appointed Arpit Tyagi as Head of Advertising for India, marking a key step in the expansion of its advertising business in one of its fastest-growing markets.

In his new role, Tyagi will lead Uber Advertising's commercial strategy and operations in India, overseeing the company's advertising offerings while strengthening partnerships with brands, agencies, marketers and merchants. He will also head Uber's newly established India-based advertising team, working closely with the company's regional and global leadership.

The appointment comes as Uber looks to scale its advertising business by enabling brands to reach consumers during high-intent moments across its platform.

Tyagi brings more than 15 years of experience in advertising, media, marketing technology and digital transformation. Before joining Uber, he was Director of Enterprise Sales at The Trade Desk, where he managed strategic relationships with some of India's largest advertisers and agencies. Prior to that, he spent several years at Amazon, helping brands leverage retail media and data-driven marketing solutions through Amazon Ads.

Commenting on the appointment, Michael Levine, Head of APAC Sales at Uber Advertising, said India represents one of the world's most dynamic advertising markets, adding that Tyagi's understanding of the evolving advertising ecosystem and experience in building businesses would support the company's next phase of growth.

Tyagi said consumers increasingly expect personalised and relevant brand experiences, and Uber's platform offers advertisers an opportunity to engage users during everyday decision-making moments. He added that he looks forward to helping brands achieve their business objectives through Uber's advertising solutions.
