OpenAI has appointed Prabhjeet Singh, former President of Uber India and South Asia, as its Managing Director for India, marking the artificial intelligence company's most significant leadership appointment in the country to date.

Singh, who announced his departure from Uber after nearly 11 years with the company, will join OpenAI in September and report to Kiran Mani, Managing Director for Asia Pacific.
