TVS Motor Company has appointed Peyman Kargar as its new director and chief executive officer, with the leadership transition set to take effect on January 27, 2027. Kargar, who currently serves as president of the company’s international business, will succeed K. N. Radhakrishnan.
Radhakrishnan will remain as director and CEO until January 27 to oversee the transition. He will subsequently continue as a non-executive director until the company’s annual general meeting in July 2027.
The leadership change comes as TVS Motor continues to expand its global business. In FY2025-26, the company sold 5.9 million vehicles worldwide, while its revenue increased 30%.
Kargar brings more than 30 years of experience in the automotive industry, with a career spanning Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East. His experience includes product development and R&D, manufacturing, quality, sales and marketing.
As president of international business, Kargar has helped drive the company’s overseas operations, which now contribute 29% of TVS Motor’s sales volume and are growing at 33%, according to the company.
In his new role, Kargar will oversee both TVS Motor’s India and international businesses. His priorities will include product innovation, premiumisation and expansion in developed markets, alongside technology, artificial intelligence, quality and customer centricity.
Sudarshan Venu, chairman, TVS Motor Company, said Kargar’s appointment comes at an important stage in the company’s growth journey.
“Peyman is an accomplished global leader with deep industry experience, strategic vision and a strong understanding of customers and markets. As President, International Business, he has already made a meaningful contribution to our business, and I am confident he is the right person to lead TVS Motor Company,” Venu said.
Venu also acknowledged Radhakrishnan’s contribution to TVS Motor and the wider TVS group, describing his leadership and guidance as instrumental in shaping the company.
Kargar said his appointment comes as TVS Motor enters a new phase of growth, with plans to strengthen its presence in India and international markets.
He said his focus would be on technology leadership, AI capabilities, quality and customer centricity while building on the company’s existing momentum.
Radhakrishnan, meanwhile, expressed confidence in his successor and said it had been a privilege to lead TVS Motor as CEO. He also praised the company’s team and wished Kargar success in his new role.
