Scott Trahan has joined Schindler Group as Head of Global Communications and Brand, moving from ABB, where he most recently served as Group Vice President and Head of Communications for its Robotics and Discrete Automation business area.

At ABB, Trahan spent nearly seven years overseeing global communications for a business spanning automation, robotics and motion technologies, with around 30,000 employees. His responsibilities included corporate communications, brand management, public affairs and digital communications, supported by a global team of more than 80 professionals.

During his tenure, Trahan also advised senior executives on communications strategy and corporate positioning, including engagements at the World Economic Forum and China’s World Artificial Intelligence Conference.

Before joining ABB, Trahan was Global Head of Integrated Communications at Signify from January 2016 to October 2017. In this role, he led communications around the company’s initial public offering and its separation from Royal Philips. He also helped establish communications structures and governance for the newly independent business.

Trahan previously served as Vice President of Communications for Europe, the Middle East and Africa at Eaton Corporation. His responsibilities included developing regional communications capabilities and supporting the company’s repositioning following its $11.8 billion acquisition of Cooper Industries.

His career also includes executive and organisational communications roles at Philip Morris International, where he gained experience in corporate communications and stakeholder engagement.

Earlier, Trahan spent more than a decade at Burson-Marsteller, holding public affairs and corporate communications leadership positions across Asia, including Hong Kong, Beijing and Shanghai.

He began his career in public service as Press Secretary to US Senator J. Bennett Johnston, before moving into corporate communications and leadership roles across multiple industries.
