Jindal India Power Ltd. has appointed Sanjay Bhargava as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), marking a leadership transition aimed at strengthening the company’s position in India’s energy sector.
In his new role, Bhargava will be responsible for driving business growth, enhancing operational efficiency, and steering the company’s power generation strategy alongside long-term expansion initiatives.
Prior to this appointment, Bhargava served as Chief O&M – Services at Prayagraj Power Generation Company Limited, where he led operations and maintenance functions, focusing on improving plant performance and operational capabilities.
He also spent over six years at Tata Power-backed Prayagraj Power Generation Company (PPGCL), where he handled Power Sales, Commercial, Regulatory, and Advocacy functions. During this period, he played a key role in shaping commercial strategies, managing regulatory affairs, and leading market-facing initiatives.
Earlier in his career, Bhargava held senior leadership roles at Tata Power, including Head – Asset Management & Business Development (Thermal) and Head – Maintenance Planning & Boiler at Maithon Power Limited.
With decades of experience across thermal power generation, asset management, maintenance, and regulatory strategy, Bhargava brings extensive sector expertise to his new role as CEO of Jindal India Power.
