Renault India has strengthened its communications function with the appointment of veteran business and automotive journalist Rajkumar Leishemba. Leishemba joins the automaker’s communications department following a long association with the Press Trust of India (PTI), where he served as Associate Editor and was part of the Economic Bureau in New Delhi.
During his journalism career, Leishemba closely followed the Indian automotive sector, reporting on developments spanning corporate strategy, automobile launches, technology partnerships and regulatory changes. His coverage also included developments around emerging technologies, emission standards and powertrain transitions within the industry.
His move to Renault India marks a transition from business journalism to corporate communications, bringing his experience of the automotive sector and its evolving business landscape into the company’s communications function.
The appointment comes as Renault India prepares for its next phase of growth in the country. The automaker is expanding its product portfolio, with the return of the Duster forming a key part of its India plans. Renault is also pursuing its ‘futuREady’ strategy, under which it plans to have seven models in India by 2030.
