New Delhi: Publicis Groupe India has announced the appointment of Atique Kazi as Chief Executive Officer of Performics India, marking a significant leadership move as the Groupe deepens its focus on strengthening its media and digital capabilities in the country.
Performics India, part of Publicis Groupe’s global integrated digital marketing network, enters a new phase of growth under Kazi’s leadership. He will report to Lalatendu Das, Chief Executive Officer, Publicis Media South Asia.
Alongside this appointment, Publicis Media has elevated Gautam Surath to the newly created role of Chief Strategy & Transformation Officer. In his expanded mandate, Surath will lead a dedicated team focused on scaling the Groupe’s capabilities across influence marketing, data and analytics, search, commerce, programmatic, and marketing technology. Over the coming months, he will also support a smooth leadership transition as Kazi takes charge of Performics India.
Surath has played a key role in shaping Performics India’s growth trajectory, with his work spanning the integration of media, ecommerce, data, artificial intelligence and performance marketing, helping strengthen both scale and delivery quality.
Kazi brings over two decades of experience across digital media, technology and data-led marketing. His career has involved working closely with leading brands to accelerate programmatic maturity, develop platform-driven solutions and drive large-scale transformation across categories. His appointment reflects both the momentum Performics India has built in recent years and its strategic importance within Publicis Groupe’s broader growth plans.
Announcing the leadership changes, Lalatendu Das, CEO, Publicis Media South Asia, said, “Atique’s appointment marks an important evolution for Performics India. His depth of experience, clarity of vision, and proven ability to scale complex digital ecosystems make him an exceptional addition to our leadership bench. At the same time, Gautam’s elevation to lead our strategy & transformation office for the media division strengthens the Groupe in an equally crucial way.”
Das added that Surath’s ability to integrate media, data, AI and commerce has been central to Performics India’s progress so far, noting that “his new mandate allows us to double down on the capabilities that will define Publicis Media’s future. Together, these leadership moves position Publicis Media India to accelerate growth for our clients and deepen our competitive advantage across the region.”
Reflecting on his new role, Gautam Surath said, “It has been a privilege to help shape the growth of Performics India over the years, and I’m deeply proud of what our teams have built together. As I step into this new role, I’m excited to work towards further strengthening the Groupe’s capabilities across data, influence, technology, and performance.”
He added that these areas are increasingly critical to client growth, saying he is “committed to bringing even more coherence, integration and strategic ambition to our offering,” while also supporting Kazi’s transition and working closely with the wider leadership team.
Commenting on his appointment, Atique Kazi said, “Performics India sits at a defining moment—where data, technology, and creativity converge to open extraordinary possibilities for brands. I’m energised by the scale of opportunity ahead of us and by the talent within the organisation.”
He added, “Together with the teams, I look forward to building solutions that are not just innovative but genuinely transformational for our clients. Performics has a strong legacy within Publicis Groupe, and we are now poised to shape the next chapter of its growth.”
