Travel-tech platform Pickyourtrail has appointed Janani Kandaswamy as its Head of Marketing, as it sharpens its focus on building a differentiated, brand-led growth engine in the rapidly evolving travel category.
Kandaswamy brings over 15 years of cross-category marketing experience spanning FMCG, stationery, appliances, automobile and telecom sectors. She has previously held leadership roles at Versuni India and ITC, where she worked on building both mass and premium brands such as Preethi, Classmate and Mangaldeep. Her work has focused on driving digital-first growth and shaping end-to-end consumer journeys across global and Indian markets.
In her new role, she will be responsible for elevating Pickyourtrail’s positioning as a category leader in customised international holidays, while also expanding its relevance across adjacent and emerging segments.
Founded by Hari Ganapathy, the company has positioned itself at the intersection of technology and personalisation, offering what it calls “Sooper hit holidays.” It claims to be among the fastest-growing holiday brands in India, driven by increasing demand for customised travel experiences.
Commenting on her appointment, Kandaswamy said, “Travel is one of the most emotionally charged yet cognitively complex categories for consumers. The next phase of growth will belong to brands that can combine deep personalisation with simplicity, and storytelling with seamless execution. Pickyourtrail has already built a strong foundation here, and I’m excited to scale this into a brand that not only organises trips but also shapes how people experience the world.”
The appointment comes amid a broader shift in consumer behaviour, with Indian travellers increasingly prioritising curated, premium and hassle-free experiences.
Hari Ganapathy, Co-founder and CEO, Pickyourtrail, said, “We’ve built a strong product-market fit over the years. The next step is to translate that into a distinctive, enduring brand. With Janani coming on board, we’re doubling down on building the most loved travel and experience brand.”
Looking ahead, Pickyourtrail plans to deepen its presence in key international markets while expanding into domestic holidays and adjacent travel experience categories. As part of this strategy, the company has also launched Fluid, a digital platform aimed at simplifying and optimising corporate travel through automation and improved decision-making.
Pickyourtrail is known for its technology-driven approach to customised holiday planning, enabling travellers to design and book personalised trips with ease.
