Procter & Gamble (P&G) has appointed Shailesh Jejurikar, the company’s President and Chief Executive Officer, as Chairman of its Board of Directors, marking the completion of a planned leadership transition at the global consumer goods major.
Effective August 1, 2026, Jejurikar will take on the additional responsibility of Chairman while continuing in his current role as President and CEO. The move follows the planned departure of Executive Chairman Jon Moeller, who will step down from P&G’s Board on July 31 and retire from the company on August 14, bringing his 38-year career with P&G to a close.
Commenting on the transition, Jejurikar acknowledged Moeller’s contribution to the company, saying, “I want to thank Jon for his many years of tireless and steady leadership at P&G. Jon's strategic vision has been instrumental in shaping the company P&G is today, and we have benefited from his unwavering courage and his profound care for this institution and its people.”
With his appointment as Chairman, Jejurikar will lead P&G’s Board in addition to overseeing the company as President and CEO, bringing together the responsibilities of board leadership and executive management.
Jejurikar’s career with P&G spans more than three decades. He joined the company in 1989 and has been part of its global leadership team since 2014. Over the course of his tenure, he has held senior leadership positions across business categories, geographies and functions, gaining extensive experience across the company’s global operations.
His leadership experience includes heading P&G’s Fabric Care and Home Care businesses across North America, Europe, Asia and Latin America. Beyond business operations, Jejurikar has also overseen several enterprise-wide functions, including supply chain, information technology and global business services.
P&G operates across around 70 countries and has a portfolio of globally recognised consumer brands, including Tide, Ariel, Pampers, Gillette, Head & Shoulders, Pantene, Olay, Oral-B, Vicks and Whisper.
