Partha Ghosh, former Global Communications Head at Air India and currently serving as Adviser to CEO Campbell Wilson, has moved on from the airline after a three-and-a-half-year tenure.
Ghosh’s departure comes close to Campbell Wilson’s own exit from Air India.
A former journalist, Ghosh joined Tata Group-owned Air India in mid-2023 after serving as Communications and CSR Head for India and Southwest Asia at Samsung Electronics. During his tenure at Air India, he played a key role in shaping the airline’s communications function during a critical phase of its transformation.
Ghosh was instrumental in building Air India’s communications architecture from the ground up and overseeing communications around several key milestones in the airline’s transformation journey. His mandate included managing communications for the airline’s expansion into global markets, its ongoing transformation, new brand identity, the merger of Vistara with Air India and the acquisition of new aircraft.
He also played a significant role in developing the airline’s crisis communications architecture and steering communications during the crisis and subsequent reset following the AI171 crash.
Under his leadership, Air India also established its Newsroom, while its digital storytelling capabilities were strengthened to create a more direct and engaging channel for communicating the airline’s transformation and developments.
Ghosh’s tenure coincided with one of the most significant periods in Air India’s recent history, as the airline underwent a wide-ranging transformation under Tata Group ownership, including operational, brand and organisational changes.
While his next move remains undisclosed, there is speculation that Ghosh could take up a new assignment shortly. Confirming that Tuesday was his last day at Air India, Ghosh, however, declined to comment on his future plans.
