Paroma Roy Chowdhury has been appointed as Senior Advisor at APCO Worldwide, marking her return to the consulting space with a renewed focus on public affairs, policy communications, and strategic advisory.

She announced the development via a LinkedIn post, noting that her role will span multiple industry mandates. Her work will particularly centre on technology and tech-enabled organisations, alongside select government projects. Chowdhury also highlighted her growing interest in policy-related work, especially advocacy and policy communications, which has increasingly shaped her professional trajectory in recent years.

Founded in 1984 and headquartered in Washington, D.C., APCO Worldwide is a global public affairs and strategic communications consultancy with a presence across more than 30 locations. The firm offers services including crisis management, government relations, public affairs, and strategic communications.

Chowdhury expressed enthusiasm about collaborating with Valerie Pinto, who recently took on the role of Managing Director at APCO India.

Prior to this, she served as Advisor Outreach at Ashoka University. With a career spanning nearly three decades, Chowdhury has held leadership roles across diverse sectors such as media, telecom, technology, education, and startups. Her past associations include BYJU'S, Google, Bharti Airtel, Dream11, and Hewlett Packard Enterprise.

She described the move as a new chapter aimed at creating “lasting impact” through policy and communications work, while continuing to build on her expertise in strategic communications and reputation management.
