OpenAI has appointed former Apple executive Mili Kapoor as its new Consumer Marketing Lead, strengthening its consumer marketing team as the company continues to expand its global reach.
Kapoor announced the move in a LinkedIn post, describing the transition as "less like changing jobs and more like stepping into a moment in time."
"I've spent much of my career building brands, shaping narratives, and bringing products closer to the people they serve. Joining OpenAI brings together two things I've always loved: the power of technology and the power of storytelling," she wrote.
Kapoor will be based in Delhi in her new role.
Before joining OpenAI, Kapoor worked at Apple as Product Marketing Lead – iPad, a position she held for over a year. Prior to that, she served as a consumer marketing leader at Philips, where she was involved in building and growing consumer-focused marketing initiatives.
Her appointment comes as OpenAI continues to invest in expanding its consumer presence and strengthening engagement with users through product marketing and brand storytelling.
