NielsenIQ (NIQ) has appointed Puneet Sharma as Managing Director, India. Based in Mumbai, Sharma will take charge of NIQ India’s commercial strategy and business operations, with a mandate to drive growth, deepen client relationships and strengthen the company’s presence across the Indian market.
In his new role, Sharma will also focus on expanding NIQ’s capabilities across consumer, retail, digital and e-commerce intelligence, as businesses increasingly seek integrated insights to navigate rapidly changing consumer behaviour.
Commenting on the appointment, Daniel Chorbadjian, Regional President, EEMEA and India, NIQ, said “Sharma joins the organisation at an important juncture for both the company and the Indian market. As consumer preferences continue to evolve and clients increasingly look for connected intelligence spanning retail, e-commerce, digital and consumer insights, India presents significant opportunities for growth and innovation.”
Chorbadjian added that Sharma’s understanding of the market, commercial expertise and experience in building customer relationships will play an important role in strengthening NIQ’s position in India and creating greater value for its clients.
Sharma brings more than two decades of leadership experience across consumer and service businesses. Before joining NIQ, Sharma served as Sales Director at Kenvue. His career spans prominent organisations including The Coca-Cola Company, Bacardi, BCCL (Times Group), Aircel and Carrier. Over the course of his career, he has built expertise across commercial strategy, sales leadership, customer engagement, go-to-market transformation and the development of high-performing teams.
Speaking about his new role, Sharma said he was excited to join NIQ at a time when both the organisation and the Indian market presented significant opportunities. He noted that India’s consumer ecosystem is undergoing rapid transformation, opening up new avenues for businesses to innovate, compete and grow.
Sharma further highlighted NIQ’s ability to bring together consumer and retail intelligence, technology and measurement capabilities to help businesses respond to these changes. He said he looks forward to working with NIQ’s teams and clients to build on the company’s strong foundation in India, accelerate growth and identify new opportunities in the market.
