Network18 Media & Investments has appointed Vipin Ramachandran as its new lead marketing – South, strengthening its regional marketing leadership as the media conglomerate sharpens its focus on brand building across platforms.
Ramachandran joins Network18 from Sony Pictures Networks India, where he served as senior manager – brand marketing for its OTT platform Sony LIV. He shared news of his appointment through a post on LinkedIn.
From Sony LIV to Network18
At Sony LIV, Ramachandran was part of the brand marketing team during a phase of rapid growth for the streaming platform, contributing to marketing strategy and audience outreach in the increasingly competitive OTT space.
Before his stint at Sony, he spent more than three years at Mindshare (WPP), where he held the role of director. During this period, he worked closely with IKEA India and handled major client accounts including Essilor, United Breweries and the Landmark Group’s Max Fashion brand.
Experience Across Broadcast and Digital Media
Earlier in his career, Ramachandran held several brand and marketing leadership roles at Zee Entertainment Enterprises. Notably, he was part of the launch team for ZEE Keralam, the network’s regional Malayalam-language channel, gaining hands-on experience in regional market expansion and channel branding.
He began his professional journey in media sales and business development with the Mathrubhumi Group and later with Malayala Manorama Television, where he worked across print, television, digital and integrated media solutions.
A Decade of Marketing and Brand Strategy Expertise
With professional experience spanning media, entertainment, OTT platforms, retail and agency ecosystems, Ramachandran brings over ten years of expertise in marketing leadership, brand strategy and integrated communications to his new role at Network18.
His appointment comes at a time when the Network18 group continues to expand its regional presence and deepen audience engagement across television, digital news and entertainment platforms.
