Nokia has appointed Kanika Bedi as Regional Communications Manager, where she will lead the company's media relations in India.
Announcing the move on LinkedIn, Bedi said the appointment marks her return to the telecom sector, where she began her career in corporate communications.
"I'm excited to share that I have joined Nokia as Regional Communications Manager, leading media relations for India," she wrote.
Bedi brings more than 16 years of experience in corporate communications, media relations, reputation management, sustainability communications and executive positioning.
Before joining Nokia, she worked independently through PersonaKraft, advising founders, senior executives and organisations on corporate communications, personal branding and employee advocacy.
Prior to that, she served as Corporate Communications Lead for India and South Asia at Reckitt, overseeing communications for brands including Dettol, Durex, Harpic, Moov and Mortein.
Earlier, Bedi spent over five years at The Coca-Cola Company in a series of communications leadership roles, including Global Communications and Sustainability Manager for Business Integration, Brand and Internal Communications Manager, and Corporate Communications Manager for India and South West Asia.
She also spent nearly five years at Ericsson, handling media relations, external communications and corporate communications, and has held communications roles at International Paper.
In addition to her corporate career, Bedi has been a visiting faculty member at the Altera Institute, where she taught business communication, personal branding and storytelling.
Bedi holds a Doctorate in Business Administration with a specialisation in Marketing from the Swiss School of Business and Management. She also has a postgraduate certificate in Business Management from XLRI Jamshedpur and a postgraduate diploma in Public Relations and Corporate Communications from the Xavier Institute of Communications.
