Infectious Advertising has appointed veteran art director and creative leader Abhijit Karandikar as Executive Creative Director.
Karandikar brings more than 30 years of experience in advertising, having worked across design, art direction and creative leadership. He spent over two decades at Ogilvy & Mather, following earlier stints at Everest Advertising and Interact Vision.
Over the course of his career, Karandikar has worked on brands including Mondelez, Castrol, Pond’s, Star Plus, Star Sports, Tata Sumo, Amaron Batteries, Taj Mahal Tea, BCCI and the Indian Ministry of Health.
His work has won more than 40 national and international awards, with honours at Cannes Lions, The One Show, London International Awards, Spikes Asia, Effies, Kyoorius and Goafest. His work has also been featured in international creative publications including Lürzer’s Archive, Communication Arts, Graphis Annual USA and The Work.
Commenting on his appointment, Karandikar said, “I am excited to work alongside industry legends like Ramanuj, Nisha and Siddharth. I’m also looking forward to collaborating with Akshay Kapnadak, whose work I have admired, and being part of the young and energetic team at Infectious.”

Beyond advertising, Karandikar works in calligraphy and experimental visual design. His original works have been exhibited in the Netherlands and at Mumbai’s Nehru Centre.
