InterGlobe Aviation, which operates IndiGo, has appointed Aloke Singh as Chief Strategy Officer, effective April 6, 2026, according to a regulatory filing.
In his new role, Singh will lead the airline’s long-term strategic planning and oversee enterprise-wide transformation initiatives as IndiGo sharpens its global ambitions. He will collaborate closely with the leadership team on cross-functional priorities aimed at improving agility, enhancing customer experience, and driving shareholder value.
Singh brings over three decades of experience across strategy, operations, planning, and commercial functions in the aviation sector. Most recently, he served as Managing Director and CEO of Air India Express, where he played a key role in the airline’s operational turnaround and expansion. His previous stints also include senior leadership roles at Air India and Oman Air.
Welcoming him on board, Rahul Bhatia, Managing Director of IndiGo, said that Singh’s strategic acumen and operational expertise will be instrumental as the airline builds a more agile and future-ready organisation while accelerating its next phase of growth. He added that Singh will initially report to him and later transition to reporting to the incoming CEO.
Commenting on his appointment, Singh said he is joining IndiGo at a pivotal time for both the airline and the broader Indian aviation sector. He noted that after redefining India’s domestic and short-haul international aviation landscape, IndiGo is now setting its sights on global expansion. He expressed his intent to work closely with teams across the organisation to strengthen strategic direction, enhance operational excellence, and expand market presence.
