Indian Premier League team Gujarat Titans has appointed Abhinav Shukla as its new Head of Marketing, tapping a seasoned marketing professional to lead the franchise’s brand and consumer engagement efforts. Shukla joins the Titans after more than six years driving high-impact marketing initiatives at fantasy sports platform Dream11.
Marketing Expertise Backed by Sports and Digital Credentials
In announcing the hire, the franchise underscored Shukla’s rich background in sports-related marketing and integrated brand strategy. At Dream11, he most recently served as Assistant Vice President – Marketing, where he steered growth marketing, brand strategy, performance media and full-funnel campaigns across India’s cricket-obsessed audience and beyond.
Before his tenure at Dream11, Shukla spent over three years with Star India (now Disney Star) as Brand Manager – Cricket, handling marketing and promotions for marquee properties such as the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 and the West Indies tour of India in 2018. In addition to cricket, he led campaigns across other sports verticals including badminton, hockey and football.
Shukla’s earlier career includes a strategic marketing role at Sony Entertainment Television, where he worked on brand strategy for sports channels such as Sony SIX and Sony KIX, covering major events including the IPL, FIFA World Cup and NBA.
Franchise Gears Up Ahead of New Season
The appointment comes as the Gujarat Titans seek to build stronger brand resonance with fans and commercial partners ahead of the upcoming IPL season. The franchise, established in the Indian Premier League in 2022, has steadily become a competitive presence in the league, winning the title in its debut season and maintaining strong performances in subsequent years.
By bringing in a marketing leader with deep experience in digital engagement and sports branding, the Titans aim to further elevate fan experience and amplify its visibility across platforms.
