Godrej Consumer Products’ in-house creative agency, Lightbox, has elevated Gaurav Kumar and Shalini Avadhani to the role of chief creative officers (CCOs), strengthening the leadership team at the company’s internal creative setup.
The appointments come at a time when Lightbox has been gaining recognition for operating with the agility of an independent creative agency while functioning within a large FMCG organisation.
Kumar has built a career spanning agencies such as Leo Burnett, Ogilvy India, McCann Worldgroup, and Dyversity Communications. In a recent LinkedIn note, he reflected on the unique demands of leading an in-house creative ecosystem, highlighting the need to balance speed, creativity, collaboration, and business accountability simultaneously.
Avadhani, meanwhile, brings more than a decade of experience in advertising and brand communication. Before joining Godrej Consumer Products as lead creative strategist, she spent over eight years at Lowe Lintas in creative leadership roles. Her professional journey also includes stints at McCann Worldgroup and Spring Marketing Capital.
Alongside these leadership elevations, Godrej Consumer Products has also expanded the responsibilities of Ashwin Moorthy, global head of category direction and head of marketing. In addition to his current mandate, Moorthy will now oversee media, influencer marketing, and the company’s in-house agency operations. Nithya Ravi has also been appointed as head of global media.
The developments are part of the company’s broader efforts to strengthen its marketing and creative capabilities as it continues to accelerate growth across categories and markets.
