Partha Ghosh has joined the JSW Group as EVP & Group Head of Communications.He updated his Linkedin profile on Monday. Ghosh will be responsible for the overall Group Communications function and all media and communication leads across JSW businesses will have a functional reporting to him.
Sources said he will report to Parth Jindal, and will be based out of the JSW Headquarter in Mumbai. Ghosh confirmed he joined JSW at the group level last week, but declined to share any further details.
Ghosh joins at an interesting time when the JSW group is undergoing a massive transformation. Under the vision of chairman Sajjan Jindal and leadership of his son, Parth Jindal, the group is transforming from being the number one steel maker in the country (JSW Steel) to a diversified global business with growing interests in steel, energy, infrastructure, cement, paints, green mobility and automobile manufacturing.
JSW has recently acquired stakes in MG Motors India and JSW Dulux Paints, and will soon launch passenger cars under its own badge JSW Motors. There are reports of JSW also acquiring a shareholding in Volkswagen Group's India operations. JSW Foundation spearheaded by Sangita Jindal is into community support at scale, promotion of Indian art, and heritage conservation and restoration work that includes the Hampi Unesco World Heritage site. Parth Jindal spearheads the Sports initiative of the group, which includes worldclass training and promotion of sports persons for Indian Olympics, co-ownership of the Delhi Capitals IPL team and the football team, Bengaluru FC.
Ghosh, a former editor, has over 30 years experience in media, with leadership roles at Samsung Southwest Asia (Comms & CSR) and recently Air India (Global Head of Comms), where he strategically led the brand's transformation and reputation and risk mandates through strategic communications.
