Embraer has appointed Aniruddho Chakraborty as its new Head of Communications for India, as the Brazilian aircraft manufacturer steps up its engagement with the country’s fast-growing aerospace and defence ecosystem.

In his new role, Chakraborty will lead communications strategy and execution across Embraer’s key business verticals in India, including commercial aviation, defence, executive aviation, and support and services.

Appointment aligns with India expansion strategy

The leadership move comes at a time when Embraer is deepening its presence in India, following the inauguration of its central hub in Aerocity, New Delhi, last year. The company has been steadily building local capabilities as part of its long-term plan to work more closely with Indian stakeholders across civil aviation, defence procurement, manufacturing and maintenance.

India is increasingly viewed as a strategic market for Embraer, both for aircraft sales and for partnerships within the domestic aerospace supply chain.

Two decades of operations in the Indian market

Embraer has been operating in India for more than 20 years, with its aircraft currently serving the Indian Air Force, various government agencies, business jet operators and regional carrier Star Air.

Nearly 50 Embraer aircraft across multiple platforms are presently in service in the country, reflecting the company’s established footprint in military, executive and regional aviation segments.

Brings 17 years of communications experience

Chakraborty joins Embraer from RTX, where he served as Head of External Communications in India, overseeing communications for Collins Aerospace, Pratt & Whitney and Raytheon.

His professional experience spans 17 years in corporate communications and public affairs, with previous roles at organisations such as Boeing, Ericsson, Tata Teleservices and Comic Con India.

Academic background

He holds a master’s degree in advertising and public relations from the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), New Delhi, and a bachelor’s degree in commerce from Shri Ram College of Commerce, University of Delhi.

With this appointment, Embraer is expected to further strengthen its positioning and stakeholder engagement in India as it expands across commercial and defence aviation programmes in the coming years.
